Star is in a beautiful area ...Eagle River is one of my favorite vacation spots...their are lots of photographers and artists that go to that area for wildlife pictures....maybe Star will get caught on film with her backpack on...

Katy J

Spent time in that area as a kid, beautiful indeed.

TTV L & J can be seen through the wind swept leaves and branches.
Meanwhile, Apollo is strolling around the nest, seems to be picking at scraps as the girls rest.

Mavis

That Star is a star. She just goes and does as she pleases and adjusts to inland and waterside well. I'm glad to see her explore and discover new areas. Just hope she stays safe.

Mr. John, I try to keep my concerns to myself, but if Sky checks in...please post right away and let us know. It will make my day. He loves the river and may be hanging out in an area without cell coverage. His feathers could be covering the solar panel, too.

Sure glad you posted the new travels of Star. Like the new TTV, too. Is that limb part of the nest tree or one nearby? Thanks for the update. Lake Superior...I bet it is beautiful. Once she is there...she may stay until winter.

Chris

It is nice to know there were some fish brought to the nest today. This morning what I saw three times was heartbreaking and I just closed out the open window.

Carol C

Nice to see Sky is having a nice adventure.
Chris I guess I missed whatever it was.
Chris you know the couple that died in the plane wreck. They are my friends sons in-laws. So sad she was a very good Doctor.

Carol C

Mavis I think it's the same tree. Nice to see them sitting up there. Love watching them wingersizing!!

Chris

Carol, The neighbor that lives behind my home is one of the their children and he works at Fred's Towing. Sounds like they were both great people who lived here in the Quad-Cities.

Chris

Carol, I think the Wall is up next on NBC. That is what the commercial just said.

Mavis

Thanks, Carol. I wondered if it was the same tree. The TTV looks kinda weird at night...empty limbs with leaves waving against a blue sky. Almost eerie looking. No parent in sight of TTV or NV.

Two kids laying down...one standing. I think the one standing may be sleeping with head tucked into back feathers. I wondered when we migh start seeing this. I just hope they don't sleep ON the wall. At least not yet!!

I checked on the nest off and on all day...nothing eventful noted. Saw Justice feed them a couple of times...he does like to sneak in his bites, too. I likes to play with them more than Lib...he'll offer a bite, and as the one designated goes to grab for it, he'll sometimes change his mind and turn his beak quickly and give it to the other one standing there. Justice can be the comical gentleman.

Goodnight everyone...

Mavis

Ok....last night check...2 standing up...one laying down...and a parent on the L branch. The blue sky is gone on TTV...and everything looks as it should. Nite.

Mavis

Was watching TTV and about 30 mins ago, one of the parents landed on the rooftop (my new name for that bare branch on TTV). Almost startled me...was not expecting it. It happened against a blue sky and blowing leaves. Then I watched parent cry out as another eagle flew overhead.

On NV...one kid was ON the wall and bending over, pecking at something in the nest. The other 2 were awake pecking at different scraps of food also. It is windy...starting off as a pretty morning.

Hope you are enjoying coffee with me, JC, Lori, Judy, Wendy, and others! Good morning Mr. John....and everyone.

Carol C

Good morning. Kids all laying down with gnats all over the place. They were bothering us yesterday too eating lunch outside!
Work for me today. Going to be another hot one!!
Chris I remember Fred's add on tv. Car dead call Fred.

Wendy

Good morning, Mavis and all. Both parents on the rooftop now. You can really see the swarm of bugs in the morning sunlight. Kids have been up then down and up again. Must be waiting for a food drop.

Mavis, this first cup of coffee always tastes the best.

Carol C

Looks like they got fed & one is really flapping & hopping
! Got a little air.

Mavis that is a great family picture on facebook.

Mavis

Ooooh, Carol, I didn't know it was there untill last night. Thanks. It's going to get into the mid 90s for me today. I guess summer is moving in now. Let us know when do you see James again.

I enjoy watching them on the rooftop, Wendy. I bet they can see everything from up there. I watched part of the feeding...looked like parent was getting the biggest share. Are you working on a sketch of the trio yet? I have enjoyed them this year...they've been so entertaining.

Wendy

It still looks like one on the rooftop. I always wondered what they do all day and now it looks like they may be perching for a good amount of the time.

I've been trying to find markings to tell the kids apart. Like I think someone mentioned earlier, Mercury seems to have the long white necklace. Maybe someone will be able to ID the other two. I like Mavis' idea for the colored bands. I wonder if they'll be able to tell the oldest to the youngest when they outfit the kids?

Mavis, I have two more weeks of class and am still working on humans. I do intend to sketch M, G and A, but I need a crisp screen shot to work from since my eyesight is not the best. I have some earlier pics and am just waiting till they fledge so I can pick the best one of the bunch to draw. I would love to capture the whole family.

Mavis

Sometimes when I look in..the nest is so full of three growing kids that there is hard to see anything else..just kids. Sometimes I look in and I can't find one of them...so how can I miss one if they take up all that space....but I do...then one will move, and I see the 'lost' kid! When I lose a kid..my heart skips a few beats...but it kick starts back up! Now I see 3 kids laying around and one seems to have made a pillow out of a gosling. They are having a good morning so far.

Mavis

Wendy, I just left the TTV. Did not see a parent this time...then the leaves moved just right and I saw BOTH perched on the right side of the rooftop. They are just enjoying their down time while the kids sleep. Can't wait to see what you decide to be the perfect picture for your sketch!

Katy J

I am going to miss the Eaglet's today, and I must relax and recreate. Kayak on the Lake today! Too much work, not enough Fun. Must bring back the Balance.

Mavis, The rooftop, I love it. The view is like laying in the grass, watching the clouds float by. With a Bonus, Liberty & Justice sittin' in the tree ☺☺.

Mavis

Katy, I hear ya....got to get the balance back! You go have some fun today...you earned it. We'll keep eyes on the kids for ya...and maybe someone will ship that lunatic NoKo boy some Valium so we can ALL relax! Catch you when you get back.

Katy J

Awesome Mavis, will be looking for posts on happenings at the nest this evening. You all have a Splendid Day!

Mavis

Wind must be brisk on rooftop because that parent is really hanging on! L or J is standing almost on the side of the limb..not straight up.

Mavis

I just checked NOAA...the wind there is reported at 15mph...of course, it may be higher 80 ft up. Anyway...parent must have blown or flown away! The kids are still laying down in the nest. I can be thankful one is not standing on the wall!!

Mavis

Does anyone see eaglet #3? I keep thinking it is hidden behind one...no head has raised up yet...can't find it.
